Updated to ExifTool 13.39. Restored an earlier method of horizontal scrolling of image browser. If the image browser has a horizontal scroll bar, double clicking a thumbnail’s caption bar makes it the current transformation and then scrolls it as far to the left as possible. Depending on the layout of the image tree, you can use this to bring mask and input thumbnails of the transformations above or below the current transformation into view. |

Corrected documentation and program messages to indicate the correct key combination for canceling a transformation or script is Ctrl+Alt and not Shift+Alt. Fixed problem of status message not being erased in some cases when canceling the loading of a script file. When canceling loading a script via Ctrl+Alt, you now have the option of bypassing the canceled transformation and continuing with it in an error state or terminating the script. When you subsequently edit the bypassed transformation, it is recalculated and the error is cleared. Fixed several problems with editing transformations that are in an error state. Export transformation: fixed problems with changes to output image not always propagating to downstream transformations, and a problem with certain text changes not being recognized if the text delay timer did not have a chance to time out |

For various transformations that display an overlay on the input image but do not use the mouse scroll wheel to modify one of their settings, it is no longer necessary to hold down the Alt key to get the mouse scroll wheel to zoom in or out. Hot Spot transformation: you can now use the mouse scroll wheel to adjust the radius or strength sliders. Mask Touch tool has been temporarily removed. |

Amount Control with mask: fixed problems in some cases with setting both black and white sliders to 100%. Added new mask tool called Touch (the rightmost button on the tool bar). See the updated help file for details. This feature is loosely modeled after the Local Adjustments feature in DxO and Nik Plugins. Since it is still being refined, please do not use it for production processing as I am likely to modify the way it works in future releases. Creating and Using Masks.pdf has not yet been updated. |
| Picture Window Pro 8.0.519 Jul 26, 2025 |
Picture Window Pro: Fixed problem in image browser causing possibly incorrect horizontal scrolling when a vertical scroll bar is present and a horizontal scroll bar is not. Slide Show Viewer: You can now drop shortcuts into the main slide show window to add images to the slide show. Pressing and holding the Esc key while a slide show is loading now cancels the operation. Fixed problem with transitions following a multi-frame slide. |

Stereo Transformation: fixed some minor issues. Hotspot Transformation: added a color control to let you remove colored hot spots. Float Curve control: fixed problem of control points very close to each other disappearing. |
| Picture Window Pro 8.0.515 Jun 23, 2025 | To prevent problems with installing Picture Window for more than one user on the same computer, the settings folder (normally located in My DocumentsPicture Window Pro) has been relocated to the AppData folder (C:users<user name>AppDataLocalPicture Window Pro). If the old folder is present, on startup Picture Window automatically copies all the files from the old folder to the new folder and then deletes the old folder. If you are not already doing so, I strongly recommend backing up your AppData folder regularly. Note that this folder is normally hidden so to see it in Windows Explorer you need to turn on the View option to show hidden files. For fun, added Fractal to Special Effects submenu – this lets you explore the Mandelbrot set. See the help file or Transformations.pdf for details. |

Fixed two annoyances related to the mouse scroll wheel: Fixed problem with accidentally rotating the mouse scroll wheel interfering with controlling the cursor in dialog boxes that display an overlay over the input image -- for example, when using the freehand Mask tool to draw and outline. The scroll wheel is now ignored in these situations (unless of course you hold down the Alt key). In the main image area, to use the mouse wheel to zoom in or out, you now need to hold down either Alt, Shift, Ctrl or the middle mouse button – on most mice the scroll wheel can be depressed as well as rotated and this acts as a middle button. Thus, if you depress the scroll wheel while rotating it, the image area will zoom, however you can’t easily do this maneuver if you are using a touchpad instead of a mouse. The reason for implementing this is to prevent unwanted zooming while performing other operations if you accidentally jar the scroll wheel. |
